Designing of a website is the same as having a suit made: it will only be useful for the company/institution exploiting it, and although it may have common or recognisable elements with other websites, it would only fit who has had it made to measure.
The process requires, therefore, the full cooperation of all in the process of definition and contribution of contents, and willingness to receive advice from Interdixit.
Identification of objectives
Probably this is the most important stage of any project and implies a clear identification of what the objective of the website is (sales, visits, prestige, become better than the competitors, enquiries, optimisation of customer services…). In this phase the technology, housing, domain, and sections of the website as well as the main functionalities are defined. For this we draft the following:
Occasionally, we also include an analysis of the competitors and identification of the objective public.
Design
Using the client proposals or the corporate communication bases (catalogues, logos, advertisements) what we call “layout” is generated: the first drafts of the standard pages. These are pages without programming or movement, where the volumes of the elements, colours, fonts and black spaces are defined, and where the main performance of the buttons and animations are pointed out.
The approval of the “layout” by the client starts the process for the development of the project.
Development and programming
Simultaneously, providing it is possible, the Content Manager (CMS) is programmed, the “layout” is developed in real web pages with CSS programming, and the “front-end” functionalities, those that will be seen by the users, are programmed. In this stage, and whenever required by Interdixit, the following should be made available:
With these elements—and others that may be required for technical reasons or functionality of the website— the adjustment and integration of all the elements will be carried out.
Uploading of contents and test
With the website practically completed it is the moment to upload all the contents, in all the languages, and check the correct operation of all the elements. The test should also be extended to the hidden tools: technical self-maintenance systems, sitemaps, RSS, automatic e-mails…
Project delivery
When the website is completed, Interdixit uploads it and makes it available to all the internet users. In addition,
