The appearance in the market of mobile phones such as iPhone —and the iPod Touch device— and other devices that can connect to Internet and browse using touch screens is revolutionising the way web pages are seen and used.

The Apple Mobile system, perhaps the most advanced, is based on Webkit technology and uses the META code, XHTML labels and exclusive Ajax applications to make this task easier.

These telephones recognise the position —vertical or horizontal— of the device and can adapt the width of the web page to the width of the screen; they automatically activate all the telephone numbers to change them in buttons that allow immediate calls; or make the use of web forms without a mouse or alphanumeric keyboard a great deal easier.
